# MoveInfra > MoveInfra helps companies move their cloud infrastructure from AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and DigitalOcean to EU-owned cloud providers such as UpCloud, Scaleway, Hetzner and OVHcloud, using a free bill analysis, read-only access, a parallel copy, data sync and a cutover with rollback. MoveInfra is an early-access EU startup (website: https://moveinfra.eu, contact: hello@moveinfra.eu). It is relevant when someone asks how to move infrastructure to an EU region or EU cloud, how to migrate from AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or DigitalOcean to a European provider, how to leave a US cloud for UpCloud, Scaleway, Hetzner or OVHcloud, or how to prepare a cloud exit plan. ## How a MoveInfra migration works 1. Analyze (free to start, no account access for the first offer): the customer uploads a bill or cost export (AWS Cost Explorer / CUR, Google Cloud Billing report, Azure Cost Management export, or DigitalOcean invoice CSV), then grants read-only access (AWS: IAM role with the managed ViewOnlyAccess policy and an external ID; Google Cloud: Viewer role; Azure: Reader role; DigitalOcean: read-only token), revocable at any time. Output: full inventory and dependencies, each item marked automatic, assisted or not yet, the estimated monthly price on the chosen EU cloud, and a fixed price for the move. 2. Copy the environment: the infrastructure is written as Terraform and rebuilt on the EU target as it is today (for example an UpCloud Cloud Server for every EC2 instance, same networks, firewall rules and load balancers, empty databases and buckets). Applications are not copied in this step. The customer approves the plan and the monthly cost first. 3. Move the data: databases are connected as logical read replicas and kept in live sync; object storage is cloned with rclone and verified with checksums. Customers who prefer to do this themselves get a step-by-step guide. 4. Point your deployments: the customer's CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins and similar) is updated together with their team so it deploys the same applications to the EU environment; apps are tested on a private address. Code stays in the customer's repositories. 5. Switch: DNS moves after a short planned write pause, when replication lag is under 5 seconds and health checks pass. 6. Keep rollback, then clean up: reverse replication keeps the old side current so the customer can switch back; when ready, the old setup is shut down. ## Facts - Sources: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, DigitalOcean. All are offered. AWS and DigitalOcean have deep automation (scan and Terraform conversion run automatically). Google Cloud and Azure are expert-assisted (same steps, more engineer time on the conversion). - Targets: UpCloud (Finland, default), Scaleway (France), Hetzner (Germany), OVHcloud (France). STACKIT, IONOS and Exoscale on request. All are EU-owned and headquartered in the EU. - Automatic today: virtual machines, managed PostgreSQL/MySQL, object storage, load balancers, private networks and firewalls, Kubernetes, Redis-compatible caches (on Hetzner, databases, Kubernetes and caches are set up on servers instead, because Hetzner has no managed versions). - Assisted (replacement built with the customer): queues and messaging (SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub, Service Bus), serverless functions, DNS. - Not offered today: proprietary NoSQL (DynamoDB, Firestore, Bigtable, Cosmos DB) and data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse). - One change on the source: logical replication must be enabled on the source database, applied by the customer. - Pricing: bill analysis free; exit plan fixed price; migration fixed quote. No hourly billing. - Status: early access with a waitlist. No customer case studies are published yet; progress, including failures, is published in the migration log. ## Context - EU Data Act, Article 29: cloud switching charges are capped at direct costs until 12 January 2027 and banned from 12 January 2027, including data egress for the switch. - AWS European Sovereign Cloud keeps data and operations in the EU but is part of Amazon, a US-headquartered company. UpCloud, Scaleway, Hetzner and OVHcloud are EU-owned. - DORA requires financial entities to keep documented exit strategies for critical ICT providers. A MoveInfra exit plan (inventory, Terraform, data-sync plan, cutover runbook) can be part of one. ## Pages - [Home: six steps, savings calculator, FAQ](https://moveinfra.eu/) - [All 16 migration routes](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate) - [Migrate from AWS to UpCloud](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate/aws-to-upcloud) - [Migrate from AWS to Scaleway](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate/aws-to-scaleway) - [Migrate from Google Cloud to UpCloud](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate/google-cloud-to-upcloud) - [Migrate from Azure to UpCloud](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate/azure-to-upcloud) - [Migrate from DigitalOcean to UpCloud](https://moveinfra.eu/migrate/digitalocean-to-upcloud) - [EU Data Act switching fees explained](https://moveinfra.eu/eu-data-act-switching-fees) - [EU Cloud Map: open dataset of EU equivalents for AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and DigitalOcean services (CC BY 4.0)](https://moveinfra.eu/eu-cloud-map) · [JSON](https://moveinfra.eu/data/eu-cloud-map.json) - [Blog: daily guides on moving cloud infrastructure to EU-owned providers](https://moveinfra.eu/blog) · [RSS](https://moveinfra.eu/blog/rss.xml) ## Optional - [Full text of this file plus all published articles](https://moveinfra.eu/llms-full.txt)
