EU Cloud Price Index
The same small production setup costs €747 a month on the cheapest US hyperscaler and €337 on the cheapest EU-owned cloud: 55% less. Below is what each part costs, from the providers' own price lists, in euros per month without VAT.

Monthly reports
Each month's prices are kept as a report with its own address, so a number you cite stays the same. Latest: EU Cloud Price Index, October 2026. The example stack costs 2.3 times as much on AWS as on Hetzner: €774 against €337 a month.
How it is measured
- Prices are list prices in EUR per month, excluding VAT, without discounts, commitments or free tiers unless stated.
- A month is 730 hours, or the provider's monthly cap when it bills less (UpCloud 672 hours).
- USD prices are converted at the ECB reference rate of the date shown.
- Server baskets pick the cheapest x86 server with at least the stated vCPU and memory from general-purpose, compute- or memory-optimised ranges. Shared-core and burstable servers are excluded; vCPUs are compared one to one.
- Server lists come from each provider's price API. Other unit prices come from data/manual.json, each with the page it was taken from.
- Locations: Frankfurt for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and UpCloud, Falkenstein for Hetzner, Paris for Scaleway, OVHcloud's EU regions.
- vCPUs are compared one to one. Performance per vCPU differs; benchmark your own workload before deciding.
